...And Here's The Best Part...

It was a chilly morning and my tummy felt like it wasn't there. " Where's Ala?" I said worried. We were presenting. Yes, presenting. It was the first presentation of the year, and as you guessed, I was scared out of my pants! Well, school shorts in this case. I had a swarm of butterflies fluttering around in my stomach. Mrs Burt glanced at us. That was our cue! We walked in trying to look at the visitors from America trying not to move our heads. 'Us' is Seini-Mino, Mubasshira, Selena, Aidan, Erene, Angela,Ala and myself........sorry I am not able to finish this, but until then, I am going to try and work on me, learning my speech off by heart.

The visitors were very nice and friendly to us. By the end of the day it looked like they enjoyed Pt England School. I hope they have a safe trip home.

  2. Toreka you are amazing! My name is Naketa Ferguson. I was with the American educators you presented to yesterday. I don't live in America, I live in Otara, Manukau City. Not too far from your school.

I was blown away by your articulate and thorough presentation. How lucky are we in New Zealand to have wonderful students such as yourself. I've just subscribed to your blog so I can see your journey throughout the year and have also shared your blog with high-school English teachers who will be blown away by the depth of your writing.

    Have a great day

  4. Toreka, I just read your post out loud to my husband, who is not a teacher. We are very impressed by how well you expressed your feelings about presenting for the first time. Great work. Keep it up.
