One Of A Kind
Lately, our class has been learning about the famous artist, Van Gogh. In his pieces of art, it's as if colours dance across the canvas, like flickering fire burning in the landscape. You can see a sense of movement in the depressed impressionist's art. What a tragic artist. He wanted to sell his paintings, but only one or two got bought. Now, his paintings are worth up to 90 million pounds! He would've been very wealthy if he still held his paint brush in his hand today. Sadly, Van Gogh cut his ear off, put in a box, and sent it to his girlfriend! This all happened because of how depressed he was. Later on, he painted a magnificent masterpiece, then shot himself. Two days after the shooting, he died. No one could save him. His brother Theo, tried to save him, but it was too late.

Hi Toreka,
ReplyDeleteVan Gogh was one of my favourite artists when I was doing art at school. I really loved his vibrant colours and textured paintings. It was very sad though that such an amazing talented person had such a tragic life don't you think. Keep up the great writing Toreka.
I really like the clever word groups to help paint a picture of Van Gogh's art in my mind; "flickering fire' and colours dance across the canvas' add such detail to your description.
ReplyDeleteYou sounds as if you are quite intrigued by his style.
